The writing profession is being minced into futility. Writers are now being evaluated by - and valued for - their ability to contort themselves into fragmented roles. Put another way, how marketing content is formed matters more than how well it functions.
This is silly. Pigeonholing writers this way undercuts what businesses really need from them: effective, strategic thought. Because that's all writing is: concentrated thinking.
The fact I have performed the above scrolled roles doesn't matter. What does is the manner in which I've performed them: by achieving consensus on what to do, thinking deeply on how to do it, then executing on those thoughts with savage, strategic language.
